As a qualified health and Nutrition Coach and Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner I can provide support for a wide range of problems. We will work together to build a warm, safe and confidential space for you to address your present concerns.

Health and Nutrition Coaching can be utilised to address a particular concern such as sleep or diet or to improve overall health in more of a holistic sense. You might be feeling tired or lethargic all the time, wanting to be more active but unsure where to start, feeling uncomfortable in your body or want to bolster your health before pregnancy. Health Coaching can be great place to start if you are feeling unsatisfied with your overall wellbeing but can't pinpoint a specific problem.

Throughout, you are the driver of your health journey and choices, however I will support you each step of the way, providing guidance around which interventions may be the most appropriate.

Nutrition

​

I have a qualification in nutrition and can support you with meal planning and looking at what is and isn't working for you in your current diet. Unless an allergy or intolerance is present it is about finding a balance which best supports your health rather than eliminating certain food groups. Particular foods can bring down inflammation whilst others may support the production or metabolism of certain hormones. 

​

Depending on your presentation I may need to consult with your doctor before we implement any interventions. Nutrition support is wide ranging to suit your needs and I can support you with grocery shopping and going through what you normally buy so we can work together to best meet your nutritional needs.

Hormone Imbalances

​

Conditions such as endometriosis and PCOS can feel debilitating when they impact your daily life however I can support you through health coaching interventions, and counselling if PMS and PMDD are also present, to have a rich and fulfilling work and social life.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation

​​

Individual sessions for Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) are available for individuals who hold a lot of tension in their body, those experiencing stress and anxiety, insomnia, and certain types of chronic pain and migraines, to relieve symptoms. Once taught this can be practiced at home to provide long-lasting benefits and can easily be slotted into your daily routine.

Sleep

 

Good sleep is not only key to health but a fundamental indicator of our overall health. I can support you to combat unhelpful behaviours around sleep however for more specific targeted insomnia support please see the Sleep Therapy page.

Lifestyle Medicine

​

Lifestyle Medicine support is central in coaching sessions to improve your overall wellbeing. Lifestyle Medicine is a practice which facilitates an individualised and holistic approach to improving health and wellbeing, whether physical or mental, so that certain chronic conditions can be prevented, managed or reversed. Supporting individuals to sustain lifestyle change is key in a time of rising chronic diseases.

Lifestyle Medicine is a way to combat this, empowering clients to address the strengths and weaknesses within the six key pillars of their life: mental wellbeing, healthy relationships, physical activity, sleep, minimising harmful substances.

​

Though separate categories, each are intrinsically linked, such as quality of sleep impacting mental wellbeing and physical activity outdoors influencing a reduction in the consumption of harmful substances, and so on. By implementing a lifestyle change in one area the benefits are felt across the health spectrum.

​

This way of working utilising certain lifestyle interventions can support living with and at times recovery from a wide range of health conditions from hypertension and coronary artery disease to type 2 diabetes and certain cancers.

 

Lifestyle Medicine can be practised by doctors and healthcare professionals.
